Skyscanner and Globitude Travels both show you flight prices, but they aren't the same kind of service. Knowing the difference helps you use each one well and spend less on the trip you actually want.
What Skyscanner does
Skyscanner is a flight metasearch engine. You enter a route and dates, it compares prices, and when you pick a fare it sends you to another website to book. The booking itself is made with that other site.
What Globitude Travels does
Globitude Travels is an independent travel agency. You search, choose and pay on us.api.globitudetravels.com, or book by phone, and we look after the booking from there. That means:
- Live fares from 600+ airlines, cheapest first, and a final price with taxes and fees that an agent confirms before ticketing.
- No markup added to the fare on qualifying routes.
- An email confirmation with your booking reference, then your e-ticket once the airline issues it.
- Real people on the phone 24/7 for changes, cancellations and special requests.
- Your trip in My Trips, and points in your account after you fly.
Is Globitude Travels better than Skyscanner?
It isn't a like-for-like question. A metasearch engine is a way to scan prices from many sources at once. A travel agency is where you actually book, and who you call when plans change.
You can use both: scan widely first, then book with the company that gives you the best final price and the kind of support you want. If you'd like one company to call about your booking, day or night, that's what Globitude Travels offers.
Are flights at Globitude Travels cheaper than on Skyscanner?
Sometimes, depending on the route, the dates and the fare. Two parts of our pricing only show up when you deal with us directly:
- Phone-only fares. Our agents hold contracted consolidator fares that aren't published online, so no website search can display them. They often come in below published fares, especially on international routes.
- Codes and points. A running Globitude Travels promo code is applied at our checkout or by an agent, and points you've earned can pay for up to 30% of a booking with us.
What doesn't change with where you book
The airline flies you either way. What changes is the price you pay and who you deal with afterwards. Baggage allowances and change conditions come with the fare you choose, so read them before you pay, wherever you book.
A quick way to compare
- Search your route and dates on Skyscanner and note the lowest price shown for the flights you want.
- Run the same search on the Globitude Travels home page and note the fare for the same flights.
- Call 1-856-513-6369 and ask an agent for the final price on those flights, taxes and fees included, and whether a phone fare is available.
- Book wherever the final price and the support suit you best.
